Learn more… Education Committee
The Education Commitee aims to promote high standards in actuarial education amongst Heriot-Watt students, through educational events that facilitate learning and exam preparations. In doing that, we seek to create a study culture that encourages collaboration amongst students and lecturers, where the Education Commitee stands as a bridge between them.
Learn more… Networking Committee
The Networking Committee provides the social side of the society, offering a hub for actuarial students to enjoy their time at Heriot-Watt. The committee plan various events throughout each term for students to 'let their hair down' between studying.
Learn more… Conference Committee
The Conference Committee is responsible for organising and running the society’s annual conference event, which aims to provide students with an insight into the actuarial industry. Organising the conference involves finding a venue for the event and generating sponsorship to cover the cost of running it. The committee also select and organise the speakers, promote the event and co-ordinate with those who wish to attend the conference.
Peer-Mentoring Committee
The Peer Mentoring Committee provide help and support to students just starting their University careers on anything from revision tips to suggestions for a great night out. This is achieved by pairing these students with 3rd and 4th year students, who will act as their mentor and point of contact for any queries which may arise.
Website Committee
The Website Committee aims to develop and maintain effective communication of the society with its members and other interested visitors, by providing effective online presentation of the society's work to date, as well as future plans. The committee has various ideas for the development of the website, which at this stage, is still in the early stages of development - so there's a promise: we've got more features to come!
