To celebrate the end of exams and reflect on the time spent studying at Heriot-Watt, a Graduation Ball will be hosted for graduating students of the MACS department. The event will be based on dinner in the Apex International Hotel, followed by an after-party at the Hudson Nightclub. We are very grateful to the Graduation Ball sponsors, Acumen Resources who have kindly offered to provide complimentary drinks to all guests.

On 27 February 2008, Heriot-Watt University Students’ Actuarial Society hosted the very first SAS Actuarial Conference!

Guest speakers included Prof. Angus Macdonald, Steven Richards of Richards Consulting and Harvard Lee, FASS President.

Committee members of SAS also provided attendees with a background to the society, its aims, and its goals for the future.

There will be a group of tutors from the 3rd and 4th year to help second year students prepare for the infamous Statistics 5 Quiz Number 2. A past Quiz 2 will be gone over and the tutors will help clear any doubts you have. The session will be informal and should give you a good start in preparing for the upcoming quiz over the weekend.

Heriot-Watt students are invited to attend this exciting event, which is a great opportunity, not only to learn the skill of wine tasting, but also to meet student actuaries in the industry.
